We tried to escape the wet for a while by going to Vietnam.
We did know that it had a similar climate to Cambodia but hoped that we might
find some sunshine as it is such a long country. You can get reasonably cheap
flights from Phnom Penh to Hanoi, and we flew one way and came back by bus
from Saigon. Carol, in her usual way, tried to book everything before we left,
from the trips we wanted to do to the train tickets between cities, and of
course the hotels. Hopefully this holiday will have cured her of this, as
the holiday did not go as planned.
Since we came back we have been very busy working with the District Education
Office, the schools and an organisation called CESSP, part of the Ministry
of Education with a brief to improve the teaching and learning in secondary
schools
